Sacred Anomalies: Infiltrating Landscape Surveys (2011)
Survey Instruments: Lidar Technology
This project by Samantha Lee AA Diploma 6
The project explores the act of mapping as a political act. Mapping becomes a means of claiming ownership, of demarcating the contesting landscape. This is explored through a series of diagrammatic practices that seek to decode this landscape, re-inscribing the historical significance of the landscape to the Aboriginal community.
Some of the drawings are particularly interesting and relate nicely to some of the mapping and diagrammatic practices I have previously featured on this blog, in particular the early work James Corner, Moon Joo Lee and Perry Kulper
